Student lifecycle

From admission to progression, one student record

A student's record starts with their application and stays with them through every school year, so details are entered once and reused at every step.

01

Apply

Families apply online. They create one student profile and use it to apply to several schools. They upload documents and follow each application separately. The state decides when admission windows open, and each school reviews its own applications.

02

Enrol

Schools add their new students in bulk at the start of the session, which is how cohorts actually arrive. Students can also create their own account, confirmed with a one-time code.

03

Build the profile

The student profile holds personal details, address, details of the father, mother or guardian, academic details, and information such as special needs status, benefit scheme status and bank details. Students keep their profile up to date through the student portal, and the school sees the same record.

04

Attend, every day

Class teachers mark the whole class present with one tap, then change only the exceptions, with a remark for any absence. A running count shows when the class is fully marked. If a teacher is posted to a different school, for example on deputation, the app opens the class at that school automatically.

05

Counted correctly

Enrolment and student attendance appear on school, district and state dashboards, and are included in the state's national reporting.

06

Progress (Coming soon)

  • Promotion records at the end of each year, including detentions and conditional promotions
  • Transfers between schools, with the transfer certificate recorded
  • Alumni records, so the link with the school continues after a student leaves
